Homemade Pizza Sauce Using Tomato Paste

If you’ve been using store-bought pizza sauce, it’s time to elevate your pizza game with this easy homemade pizza sauce recipe using tomato paste. With just a few pantry staples, you can whip up a delicious sauce that’s bursting with flavor.

Equipment

  • Medium sauce pan
  • Whisk
  • Wooden spoon
  • measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 6 ounce tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions
 

  • Place all the ingredients into a small saucepan.
  • Turn to medium-high heat.
  • Whisk until the tomato paste is thoroughly incorporated with the water.
  • Once you start to see bubbles, turn to a simmer.
  • Keep it on low and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
